In December, we announced the most comprehensive update to our pricing capabilities since the App Store first launched, including more price points and new tools to manage storefront pricing. Starting today, these improvements and new pricing are now available for all app and in-app purchase types, including paid apps and one-time in-app purchases.
-
More flexible price points. Choose from 900 price points – nearly 10 times the price points available for paid apps in the past – plus one-time in-app purchases. These options also increase in price ranges (eg, every $0.10 to $10, every $0.50 between $10 and $50, etc.), providing more flexibility.
-
Improved international pricing. Use globally equivalent prices that follow the most common pricing conventions in each country or region, so you can offer customers a more relevant price.
-
International options for basic pricing. In the other 174 storefronts and 43 currencies for paid apps and one-time in-app purchases, specify the country or region you know as the basis for international equivalent prices. The prices you set for this home storefront are not adjusted by Apple for taxes or foreign currency changes, and you can set prices for each storefront if you want.
-
Regional options available. Define in-app purchases (including subscriptions) on the storefront to provide tailored content and services for each market.
Get ready for international price revisions in May
The App Store’s global parity tools provide an easy and convenient way to manage prices on global markets. On May 9, 2023, pricing for existing apps and one-time in-app purchases will be updated across all 175 app storefronts to take advantage of new global pricing. The updated rates are internationally equivalent to the country or region of your choice using publicly available exchange rate data from financial information providers. These price points follow the most common conventions in each country or region so prices are more relevant to customers.
To take advantage of the updated global pricing, you can update the current price using App Store Connect or the App Store Connect API. If you haven’t made a price update for your existing apps and one-time in-app purchases by May 9, Apple will update you using your current price in the United States. If you want a different price to be based on, update the country or region of origin for your apps or in-app purchases. You can also choose to manually manage prices on a storefront of your choice instead of using the default price.
