Apple Fitness+ will be available to all iPhone users in 21 countries this fall.
Starting September 12, Fitness+ will also introduce new seasons for walking and running. The latest Artist Spotlight series features music from Mary J. Blige, The Rolling Stones and The Weeknd; And a new yoga instructor
Cupertino, California Apple today announced that Apple Fitness+, its award-winning fitness and health service, will be available for all iPhone users to subscribe to and enjoy, even if they don’t have an Apple Watch. The update will be available later this fall in all 21 countries where the service is available. On Monday, September 12, Fitness+ will introduce the fourth season of Time Two featuring new guests, including award-winning actress Regina Hall, Latin Grammy winner Nicki Jam and Emmy Award winner Leslie Jordan. Running Time will begin its second season in locations such as Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Mexico City and Queenstown, New Zealand. That same day, Fitness+ will launch its latest Artist Spotlight series with workouts featuring the music of Mary J. Blige, The Rolling Stones and The Weeknd. In addition, Fitness+ expands its team of world-class trainers with the introduction of its new collection, Pilates for More Than Your Core, and new yoga instructor Dice Iida-Klein.

Fitness+ for all iPhone users
This fall, for the first time, Fitness+ will be available for iPhone users to sign up for and enjoy in the 21 countries where it’s available, even if they don’t have an Apple Watch. iPhone users have access to the entire service, which features more than 3,000 studio-style workouts and meditations. Fitness+ users see coaching instructions and intervals on the Maya screen, and calories burned are estimated on their wearables to track progress. Fitness+ is fully integrated with the Fitness app that comes with iOS 16 and located in the middle tab, users can be motivated to close their activity ring with rewards, activity sharing and more. Users All you need is an iPhone to sign up, and then you can access Fitness+ on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
Fitness+ users can continue to take their motivation to the next level with personalized real-time metrics on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, as well as time for walking, running and meditation. Only with their Apple Watch paired with AirPods or other Bluetooth-enabled headphones.
Time to walk and run
In the fall, Fitness+ will introduce new Time to Walk episodes, an inspiring audio experience on Apple Watch designed to help people walk more often, featuring some of the world’s most interesting and influential people sharing stories, photos and music with Fitness+ users. . The tour has featured 58 guests to date, including Prince William, Malala Yousafzai, Christopher Meloni, Draymond Green, Camila Cabello, Nick Jonas and many others.
Starting with the series’ fourth season, new guests will be added each week:
- Award-winning actress and comedian Regina Hall, who hosted the 2022 Academy Awards and is best known for her role in the comedy-horror “Scary Movie” series.
- Nicky Jam, Latin Grammy-winning reggaeton and Latin trap artist, best known for his hit album “Phoenix.”
- Leslie Jordan is a popular film, television and stage actress who won an Emmy Award for her role in “Will and Grace.”
- Ade Adepitan, Paralympic medalist, British television presenter and children’s author.
- Listed as one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in the world, Constance Wu is an award-winning actress best known for her roles in “Fresh Off the Boat” and “Crazy Rich Asians.”
- Meghan Trainor, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, rose to fame with her record-breaking debut single, “All About That Bass.”
In addition, Time to Run, an audio running experience designed to help users add motivation to their daily routine, will include new episodes featuring famous running routes in some of the world’s most famous locations. Each Time to Run episode is hosted by a Fitness+ coach and features motivational coaching tips, coach-curated music playlists that inspire and motivate, and photos of celebrity sightings along the Fitness+ coach’s path. Runners of all levels can enjoy running at any time, and stay motivated on their way from start to finish.
As the series begins its second season, new locations will be added each week, starting with Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Mexico City; Anchorage, Alaska; Monterey, California; Seattle; and Queenstown, New Zealand.
In iOS 16, all classes for walking and running are available in the iPhone Fitness app with a Fitness+ subscription. Users can enjoy the episodes by pairing their Apple Watch with AirPods or other Bluetooth-enabled headphones. For participants who use wheelchairs, time to walk and time to run classes will be time to walk or push and time to run or push.
Artist Spotlight
Starting Monday, September 12, Fitness+ will add new workouts to its popular Artist Spotlight series featuring the music of Mary J. Blige, The Rolling Stones and The Weeknd. The series features an entire workout playlist per artist, and every Monday for four weeks, new workouts featuring music from each artist will be featured on a variety of workouts, including strength, HIIT, dance, cycling, yoga, and treadmill. Previous Artist Spotlight workouts have featured music by BTS, the Beatles, Elton John, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Prince, Shakira and more.
Inspired by these workouts, Apple Music and Apple One subscribers can enjoy the Fitness+ Spotlight series.
Collections
That same day, Fitness+ will introduce its new collection, Pilates Beyond Your Core, which features 20- and 30-minute Pilates exercises designed to strengthen the entire body using a resistance band. Users can perform these exercises on their own or as a supplement to strength and core workouts. Other sets in the service include train to row 2000 meters, run your first 5K, get into the groove with dance, hike for life and more.
New yoga instructor
Yoga – one of the most popular forms of exercise – can help users feel strong, toned and centered. Dice Iida-Klein is the newest addition to the Fitness+ coaching team and has over 15 years of experience teaching yoga in locations including Australia, the Netherlands and Thailand. He is passionate about helping people learn more about their mind-body connection, and his music selections encourage users to embrace this.
Fitness+ improvements to watchOS 9 and iOS 16
- With iOS 16 Fitness+, users have more ways to stay motivated for their next goal. Now you can earn special rewards for personal bests, streaks or milestones, including completing a Fit+ workout or for achievements like “First Fit+ Core Workout” or “Best Fit+ HIIT Workout”.
- With watchOS 9, Fitness+ workouts now show more on-screen instructions with coach training to help users get the most out of their workouts, including Intensity for HIIT, cycling, rowing and treadmill; Strokes per minute (SPM) for rowing; Revolutions per minute (RPM) for a bicycle; And lean on the treadmill for walkers and runners.
- Fitness+ subscribers can use AirPlay to stream workouts or meditation to third-party devices that don’t have an Apple TV. With watchOS 9, on-screen metrics are now available on compatible third-party devices to help users stay motivated.
Pricing and availability
- Apple Fitness+ is available as a subscription service. $9.99 (US) per month or $79.99 (US) per year, and can be shared with up to five other family members.
- Fitness+ is included in the Apple One Premier plan, which offers customers Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and iCloud+ with 2TB of storage, if available. $29.95 (US) per month, and can be shared with up to five other family members.
- Fitness+ is available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerlandof UAEof UKAnd US.
- Three months of Apple Fitness+ is included for customers who purchase Apple Watch Series 4 or later, and one month of Fitness+ is included for existing Apple Watch users.
- Fitness+ can be shared with up to five other family members for the same price, making it easy for Apple Watch users in the same household to enjoy the service.
- Fitness+ requires an Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2, and is available when paired with an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14.3.
- To get the new features, use Apple Fitness+ with an Apple Watch Series 4 or later paired with watchOS 9, an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16, an iPad with iPadOS 16, or an Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD with TVOS 16.
