The iPhone 14 launch has been garnering extensive headlines ever since its launch a few weeks ago. While the iPhone 14 series is fresh, rumors of the iPhone 15 have started circulating online. According to a new report, all models of the iPhone 15 lineup will feature a dynamic island notch.
Flexible Island comes to the iPhone 15 line
The Dynamic Island notch was introduced only for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. As seen in previous models like the iPhone 13 series, the base iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max still remain standard.
According to supply chain analyst Ross Young, the dynamic island notch will appear on all iPhone 15 models, not just the Pro variants. If true, the new dynamic island notch will replace the one first seen on the iPhone X models.
However, Apple will still have several reasons to differentiate the iPhone 15 base and Pro models. Young says the iPhone 15 won’t feature a 120Hz LTPO panel, which supports the always-on display on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
This is probably one of the key differences between the iPhone 15 Pro models and other base variants. The analyst said the supply chain won’t support upgraded displays for all iPhone 15 models.
Yes, Dynamic Island is expected on 15th standard models. Still, 120Hz/LTPO cannot be supported by standard models in the supply chain.

iPhone 14 Flexible Island Notch Explained.
For those who don’t know, the Dynamic Island notch is a black pill-shaped notch that replaced the ugly notch seen on all previous iPhone models. But like the usual notches and pill-shaped cutouts we see on Android smartphones, Apple has integrated this cutout into the iPhone UI using animation.
The result is that the dynamic island appears longer when the user interacts with it. For example, users can view notifications and even track live activities. If the iPhone 15 lineup adopts the Dynamic Island, the new design can be expected to continue for a few generations.
