After weeks of teasing, Asus has finally unveiled the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate – the Dimensity Powered-counterparts to the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro. To squeeze every last bit of performance out of the Mediatek chipset, Asus has designed a cooling system that is revolutionary even by its own high standards.

Both the 6D and 6D Ultimate run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. One of the differences between the standard 6D and the Ultimate variant is the memory. The Ultimate goes up to 16GB/512GB, while the Standard Edition goes up to 16GB/256GB.
The two handsets share a 6.78-inch OLED panel with 10-bit color depth, 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ capability – also the same as the original ROG Phone 6 line.
The camera department remains unchanged – a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor with 1.0µm pixels and f/1.9 lens is joined by a 13MP f/2.2, ultrawide shooter and a 5MP macro camera on the main unit. The selfie camera has a 12MP sensor.
Battery capacity is also the same – 6,000 mAh with support for fast charging up to 65W on USB power supply.
The design is largely unchanged. The 6D Ultimate Edition gets a ROG Vision color PMOLED display on the back, while the standard one sits on an RGB LED-illuminated ROG logo.
Even the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro accessories are compatible with the new 6D and 6D Ultimate.
However, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate comes with a unique Aeroactive portal on the back. Aeroactive Portal’s motorized hinge provides direct access to the phone’s internal cooling chambers. When the Aeroactive Cooler 6 is connected, it lifts the assembly and automatically opens the airway. That allows the fan to disperse heat more efficiently, resulting in unprecedented sustained performance.

Asus is offering the ROG Phone 6D duo in a single Space Gray color only. The vanilla 6D will start at £799 in the UK, while the final variant will cost at least £1,199, but it will also come with the Aeroactive Cooler 6 attachment, costing around €89.
