You’ve been hearing about Black Friday deals for two weeks, but today is it. of day. Once again, Samsung US is taking the opportunity to let you try out the Shop Samsung app with some special offers. You can also go through the web store, though you’ll need a student discount to get the same discount the app offers.
Let’s start with folding. Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy Z Fold5 from free storage to 512GB and you can get 25% off with the app. The student discount is also 25%, but does not stack. What makes it stack is the transaction credit – you can throw the value up to $1,000. Note: The Free Store update is also available through the Web Store but only for today.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 gets 25% off through the app and you can get up to $600 in trade credit. The student discount is actually a bit higher at 30%. Note that the trade-in credit is deducted from the MSRP first, with the percentage discount applied second.
If you’re not into foldables, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a better camera setup and room to store the S Pen without a case. It has a 25% discount through the app or you can go to the web store for a 25% student discount. In both cases, the transaction credit is limited to $800.
You can also take Samsung accessories. The Galaxy Watch6 is $80 off through the app and web store.
There’s also the Galaxy Buds2 Pro – if you want a discount on these, you can get $70 off through the app and web store.
Here are some entertainment options to wrap things up. If you have room for a projector screen, you can get The Freestyle (2nd Gen) from Samsung for 25% off. The projector will display details such as focus, keystone correction, etc. Select the movie you want to watch. Or you can use it to play games using Game Hub (which supports major game streaming services).
For gaming, you might be better off with the 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, which is essentially two 4K displays side by side (and with no bezels between them). It has a curved display (1000R), mini-LED panel with DisplayHDR 1000 level (1,000 nits) and 240Hz refresh rate (1ms gray to gray response time).
