It’s no secret that Samsung is working on a new A-series smartphone, the Galaxy A14, to replace the Galaxy A13 4G in the market. There have been many hints and rumors about the existence of this device for the past couple of months. Now the smartphone’s CPU performance and some key specifications have surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Let’s check if it can beat its predecessor in terms of performance.
Samsung Galaxy A14: Specifications
The alleged Samsung Galaxy A14 device has been spotted on the Geekbench database with the model number SM-145P. It is powered by the MT6769V/CT processor which is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. In comparison, the older Samsung A13 4G device came with an Exynos 850 processor.
The Galaxy A14 has a single-core score of 1658 and a multi-core score of 5283. These scores may seem pretty high for a mid-range chipset, but note that this is a Geekbench 4 test, not a Geekbench 5 test. Going by the Geekbench 5 tests on the Internet, the Helio G80 scores higher single-core and multi-core scores compared to the Exynos 850 processor. So expect the new Galaxy A14 to perform slightly better than the Galaxy A13 4G.
The Helio G80 chipset consists of two ARM Cortex-A75 cores and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores, while the Exynos 850 comes with eight ARM Cortex-A55 cores. The Helio G80’s powerful cores can be leveraged for high CPU benchmark results. Also, expect higher GPU performance with the Helio G80 as the Mali G52 GPU gets a higher frequency of 950 MHz than the 850 MHz GPU of the Exynos 850.
Samsung Galaxy A14: Another information revealed by Geekbench
The Geekbench 4 listing reveals information about the Samsung Galaxy A14’s RAM and Android operating system. The prototype on the benchmarking website has 4GB of RAM installed. However, expect Samsung to offer a higher variant with 6GB RAM. The device is loaded with the latest Android 13 operating system. So, expect it to run on OneUI 5 based on Android 13 out-of-the-box OS. One can expect the smartphone to break the cover soon and be priced below Rs 15,000 in the Indian market.
