Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi has officially confirmed that the launch of the Redmi Note 12 series will take place in October. The company has teased the upcoming launch event of its upcoming Redmi Note 12 series smartphones by hinting at the features and specifications.
As we recently learned, the Redmi Note 12 series will have at least three models — Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Just like this year’s lineup of Redmi Note smartphones, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will be the flagship and will be capable of charging at 210W.
Redmi Note 12 Pro series charging speed
According to the 3C certification list, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ can be the world’s fastest charger with up to 210W fast charging support. Similarly, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is said to support up to 120W fast charging. The entry-level Redmi Note 12 may support 67W fast charging, just like the Redmi Note 11 Pro+.
As the Redmi Note 12 series is a mid-range segment, the company is likely to launch these smartphones in two flavors. Base model with standard charging speed of around 67W. Similarly, there will be a slightly more expensive variant on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Redmi Note 12 Pro that will come with a 210W and 120W fast charger respectively.
Currently, the OnePlus 10R supports the world’s fastest 150W fast charger, which can fully charge the battery in less than 17 minutes. Considering the power level of Redmi Note 12 Pro+, the smartphones can be fully charged in less than 10 minutes with the 210W fast charging adapter.
What do we know about the Redmi Note 12 Series?
Speculators predict that the Redmi Note 12 series will use the recently announced Mediatek Dimensity 1080 SoC, making it the most powerful Redmi Note ever. Considering the possible lineup of the Redmi Note 12 series, only the top two models are expected to be based on the new Mediatek processor.
We can expect Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ to have FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. While these phones may not feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, they do come with a side-mounted power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor.
All three Redmi Note 12 variants are expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery, and these devices may support reverse charging. The smartphones are expected to ship Android 13 operating system with a custom MIUI 13 skin on top.
