Design and performance: Fitbit Sense 2 vs Versa 4 vs Pixel Watch
Like the previous generation, the current Fitbit watches Sense 2 and Versa 4 are almost identical. There are minor differences in color: on the Sense 2 you have three options, while the Versa 4 gives you four color options to choose from. The Pixel Watch, on the other hand, looks completely different.
Unlike other smartwatches under the Fitbit banner, it relies on a round case and round touchscreen. It’s also the more compact of the two Fitbit watches with its 41mm case.

All three models rely on touchscreens. The procedure here is very similar between the models. Swipe down to access a few quick settings from the top, while swiping up from the bottom shows notifications.
Finally, you can browse several widgets horizontally, such as the number of steps taken today, your current heart rate and resting heart rate, or last night’s sleep information.

The Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 both have a mechanical home button on the left side of the case. On the other hand, the Google Pixel Watch has a crown that not only rotates on the right, but also serves as the home button. Above it is a second configurable button that opens recently used apps and tasks by default.
Smart Features vs. Battery Life: Fitbit Sense 2 vs. Versa 4 vs. Pixel Watch
With more buttons, the Google Pixel Watch with Wear OS 3.5 is considered to run a more complex operating system than the two Fitbit models (Fitbit OS). Both systems look similar at first glance and offer a comparable set of features.
In addition to the usual fitness features, both offer Google Pocket and Google Assistant, Fitbit Pay and Amazon Alexa are also available on Fitbit models, the latter of which can be installed on the Pixel Watch via the Play Store.

And here’s where we get to the critical difference: the Pixel Watch offers the option to install apps. From Comet to Spotify to Shazam, you can find every imaginable app in the Play Store for Android. While you’re limited to preloaded apps on Fitbit smartwatches, the Pixel Watch offers unlimited options.
However, these smartwatch capabilities also come at a cost: the Google Pixel Watch’s battery life is significantly shorter than the two Fitbit models. While the Sense 2 and Versa 4 each last for six days according to the manufacturer, it’s only 24 hours for the Pixel Watch. If the always-on display is enabled, the runtime should be even shorter, around 20 to 22 hours.
Sensors and health features: Fitbit Sense 2 vs Versa 4 vs Pixel Watch
All three smartwatches have a common set of basic fitness features. These include, for example, an optical heart rate sensor, which records blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) in addition to current heart rate and resting heart rate. All models have an integrated GPS module including an altimeter. However, that’s about it.
Sense 2 is the only model to offer a few additional sensors specifically focused on mind and health. For example, you can do an EDA scan with the CEDA sensor and thus record your stress level. Also, the Sense 2 is the only triplet model capable of recording ECGs. Last but not least, you only get the skin temperature sensor in the Sense 2.

Last but not least, there are limitations that apply to all models. Neither Fitbit watches nor the Google Pixel Watch connect to external accessories. A chest strap would have been particularly useful for accurate heart rate measurement, while speed and support sensors would have been useful for cyclists. As life goes on, you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Which model should I buy: Fitbit Sense 2, Versa 4 or Pixel Watch?
The main thing is that it is difficult to recommend a certain model to everyone. The Fitbit Versa 4 is a price champion with a suggested retail price of $229 and offers reasonable sports tracking options. The Fitbit Sense 2 goes one better with EDA, ECG, etc. sensors, but of course it’s a bit more expensive at $299.
Finally, the Pixel Watch, which costs at least $350, is on the same level as the Versa in terms of fitness, but has a whole host of smart features — and is the only model available in an LTE version.
