The useful Ice Universe – not the most reliable sources – has tweeted what could be a few details of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. These details should be taken with a pinch of salt, but they are reliable.
According to the tip, both the phones could get Samsung’s waterdrop display, which was launched at CES 2023. The phones are likely to feature IP_8 level water resistance and new touch screen technology.
Explain some Fold5/Flip5 details. I’ve mentioned them before, but now I’m putting them together.
1. Both the Fold5 and Flip5 accept water-drop hinges and support IPX8-level waterproofing.
Focusing on the fold, there is supposed to be only a 0.2mm difference compared to the Fold 4. However, the outer screen is still said to be 6.2 inches. The leak claims the device could weigh up to 254g, down from the Fold 4’s 263g. Best of all, the Fold 5 could eliminate the pesky gap that plagued previous iterations.
As for the Flip 5, the leak claims that the clamshell may house a 3.4-inch square-shaped external screen that can be folded. Additionally, the inner screen may see a reduction in screen bezels.
Apart from this leak, rumors also suggested that the phones might have a smaller display due to the new bezels. And both phones are expected to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or plus variant chipset.
