Since launching Google Play Store Listing Certification in 2021, our no-cost, self-paced training courses have helped thousands of developers in over 80 countries increase app installs. During the training, developers will learn essential mobile marketing best practices, including how to use Play Console development tools such as Store Listing Tests (SLEs) and Custom Store Listings (CLLs).
Today, we’re excited to release a major update to our self-paced training that covers all of the new CSL and SLE features, as well as real-world examples of how to use them to drive user development. We’re releasing a series of video study guides to help you lock in your new knowledge before the exam.
What’s New: New features in custom store lists and store list tests
The new course content focuses on custom store lists and store list tests. For those unfamiliar, custom store listings allow you to show your title’s Play Store content to different people. For example, you can create customized versions for users in different countries where feature availability varies, or just for users who have switched or dropped out.
Custom store listings help you deliver the most effective message to different users. Based on internal benchmarking analysis, CSLs can help increase an app or game’s monthly active users (MAUs) by over 3.5% on average.1.
Store listing tests, on the other hand, provide a way to explore what icons, descriptions, screenshots (and more) convert best for your title on the Play Store.
These are features you can use today! Google Play Academy training now includes four new courses with custom store listings, four updated courses, and nine new study guide videos.
