Honor Pad 8 was announced to Chinese consumers in July and went to the international market 1.5 months later. Now, the independent brand has listed the Pad X8 Lite on its website, which appears to be a more affordable option, but upon further investigation, we found out that the Honor Tab 7 has a Helio P22T Chipset and older Android.
The device comes with a 9.7-inch LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Internally, the Mediatek chipset has 32 GB of storage to keep the company company, which is extremely low and nowhere near the 128 GB options offered to the home crowd. RAM is not mentioned and we hope it is only 4 GB.
The rear camera is 5 MP and has no LED flash. The front camera is 2MP for video calls and home work/study situations.
The user interface is Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 10 (yes, really). This tablet is all about productivity, so it can open up to 4 apps on the screen at once, and offers an e-book mode that resembles e-ink readers. Pad X8 Lite is TUV Rheinland certified for low blue light content.
Other specifications include two large speakers on the two short sides, a 5,100 mAh battery with a micro USB port, Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. No 3.5mm audio jack.
The Honor Pad X8 Lite has been listed in Neo Mint colors on the global website with no information on whether it will have an LTE variant. Looking at how the Tab 7 sold in China last year, we can assume that this version will sell for less than $200.
