Honor has announced a pair of new phones in China with the Snapdragon 888-powered X40 GT and the Snapdragon 480+-equipped Play 6C.
Honor X40 GT
The Honor X40 GT gets a 6.81-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The device also comes with an 8-layer graphite cooling pad that cools the phone’s surface temperature by up to 1 degree Celsius. The phone runs on the slightly older but still capable Snapdragon 888 platform with 8/12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The rear has a 50MP primary camera with a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth-of-field module, while the selfie camera comes in at 16MP. Honor X40 GT is equipped with a 4,800 mAh battery and 66W fast charging. It boots Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12.
Honor X40 GT in all its color options
The Honor X40 GT comes in Black, Silver and Racing Black colors starting at CNY 2,099 ($290) for the 8/256GB trim. The 12/256GB mode costs CNY 2,399 ($332) and is scheduled to go on sale in China on October 18.
Honor Play 6C
Honor Play 6C is the latest budget oriented device from the brand. It sports a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch for a 5MP selfie camera. The device comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480+ chipset along with 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via microSD.
The Play 6C has a 13MP primary camera on the back with a 2MP depth sensor and LED flash. Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 12 covers the software side, while the battery is 5,000 mAh and supports 22.5W fast charging. The phone has a fingerprint scanner built into the power button as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Celebrate the 6C in black, silver and blue
The Honor Play 6C is available in Black, Silver and Blue colors starting at CNY 1,099 ($153) for the 6/128GB trim. There’s an 8/128GB model for CNY 1,299 ($180), and both are already available to order in China. Global pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
