Next week, on September 15, Honor will officially announce the X40 smartphone, which was previously teased a few days ago, revealing that it will have a curved screen with a hole-punch centered on the selfie camera.
A rumor out of China today gives us the phone’s specs, starting with a 6.67-inch screen size, 1080×2400 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color support. The Honor X40 is also said to sport an 8MP selfie camera. snapper, 50 MP primary rear camera, and 2 MP secondary camera on the back.
Running things is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 SoC, the same chipset used in the Honor X30, the X40’s predecessor, launched last December. Keeping the chipset unchanged is definitely an odd choice, especially seeing as how the Snapdragon 695 is far from a powerhouse.
Anyway, the Honor X40 is rumored to pack a 5,100 mAh battery, up from its predecessor’s 300 mAh, and support 40W fast charging. It runs Android 12 with Magic UI 6.1. The phone is reported to measure 161.6 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm and weigh 172 grams.
