Itel launched the S23 in June and today the company followed it up with the itel S23+.
The Itel S23+ is built with a 6.78-inch full HD+ curved always-on AMOLED display with 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, 500 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has an under-display fingerprint reader for biometric authentication and a center-focused punch. A hole for a 32 MP selfie camera.
Moreover, the itel S23+ features Apple’s Dynamic Island-like Dynamic Bar, which allows users to check incoming calls, reminders and battery status notifications. However, it is not available out of the box and will be released through software updates.
On the back, we have a squirrel-shaped camera island housing an LED flash and two cameras – a 50MP primary and an auxiliary unit. For better portraits, the camera comes with eye tracking and Portrait Lite features. The back panel of the colorful Cyan Lake model is made with a dense layering technique that recreates the beauty of the lake and the mountain, while the back cover of the Elemental Blue version is made with a sophisticated glitter sand process, which recreates the beauty. A starry night.
Under the hood, the itel S23+ has Unisoc T616 SoC with 8GB RAM LPDDR4X RAM (+8GB virtual) and 256GB UFS 2.0 storage. itel claims that the S23+ uses Atom Storage technology that “automatically finds and organizes fragmented data on your phone, so you don’t have to worry about your phone’s performance getting worse over time.” Moreover, Atom Storage technology “restores read and write speeds to a new level, which after four years of use in 3% speed reduction.”
On the software side, itel S23+ runs Android 13 based itelOS 13 integrated with Aivana GPT AI based voice assistant.
Fueling the entire package is a 5,000 mAh battery that draws up to 18W of power via the USB-C port and goes from flat to 100% in two hours.
The Itel S23+ is 7.9mm thin, weighs 178g and comes with an NFC chip. It costs $120 (€112/INR9,985) and is available for purchase at local Etel stores in African countries. Instead of the standard 1-year warranty and 6-month free screen replacement, itel is offering buyers a 3-year warranty.
