Motorola has been at the forefront of smartphone innovation, especially since the launch of the Moto Razr foldable phone. The brand is now foraying into mobile phones, teased at parent company Lenovo’s Tech World 2022 event. It remains to be seen how well the new Moto mobile will fare against existing devices like the LG Rollable.

Motorola’s new rolling phone could be considered futuristic. It offers a button on the side, which when pressed expands or retracts the screen. Lenovo makes the new handset even more unique with a matching wallpaper.

Lenovo Teases Motorola Rollable Phone

The Lenovo Tech World 2022 event just gave us a glimpse of the new Motorola handset. Only the front of the smartphone has been revealed and the screen seems to wrap around the phone. This seems to be rolling from the bottom end.

Motorola has revealed that the rotating display is a flexible OLED panel. It measures 6.5 inches when extended and rotates to 4-inches at the “top,” says the brand. This also makes it easier to carry the new mobile phone like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series.

Interestingly, the Motorola foldable phone teased here has revealed its battery and cellular indicators, suggesting that this is a prototype operating system. Motorola or Lenovo have provided more details.

Motorola Rollable Phone vs other Rollables in the market

Motorola mobile is the latest addition to the mobile market which currently includes devices from LG and TCL. Rather than being a prototype, the LG Rollable is one of the few exclusive smartphones on the market. TCL has been developing and teasing portable and flexible products, but has yet to offer a commercially available foldable phone.

Talking about the new Motorola rollable phone, the company has not provided any concrete information yet. However, users can expect the new convertible to arrive in select markets, at least in China.

This phone also looks practical and can be expected to be successful. You can use the 4-inch display or extend it as needed with just one button. In this case, Motorola’s rollable phone could see more success than TCL or LG, but only if it launches in a wider market.
