It looks like the Nokia G60 5G India launch is imminent as the smartphones have been listed on the official Nokia India website. Notably, the listing shed light on the full specifications of the smartphone apart from the pricing and availability details. The device was showcased at IFA 2022 alongside the Nokia X30 5G. Nokia G60 5G will be Nokia’s first ever 5G phone in the country.
The details surfaced shortly after the announcement of a partnership between Nokia and Reliance Jio for 5G deployment. Here’s how much the Nokia smartphone costs in the country and the competition it might face.
Nokia G60 5G specifications
As the smartphone was released in early September, its specifications are already known. Similarly, the Nokia G60 5G offers a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution of 1800 x 2400 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The device features Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Nokia G60 5G is an Android Enterprise recommended device and comes preloaded with Android 12 operating system. The official listing confirms that there will be three years of OS upgrade support and three years of monthly security updates.
It draws power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. The 4,500 mAh battery supports the Nokia smartphone with 20W fast charging. This battery is said to provide up to two days of battery life for the smartphones.
For imaging, the Nokia G60 5G packs a 50MP primary sensor at the back, a 5MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP tertiary depth sensor with LED flash. Other goodies of Nokia G60 5G include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, dual SIM e-SIM support, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Other goodies include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IP52 rated chassis.
Expected price and competition in India
The Nokia G60 5G has been announced in Europe for €320 (approximately ₹26,000). That said, we can expect the device to be priced at Rs 25,000 in India. However, the company could not confirm when it will launch the device in India and the pricing.
When it comes to competition, Nokia G60 5G can be covered in the same segment as Moto G82. It uses the same Snapdragon 695 SoC but with better specs like 6GB of RAM and support for improved fast charging technology. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G comes with a processor and upgrades like a 64MP camera sensor and 6GB RAM at a lower cost.
