Nothing has been released today for the company’s Phone (2) smartphone. The update mainly focuses on camera improvements, with some other quality of life changes thrown in for good measure.
First is a more general list of updates across all cameras:
- Improved facial clarity in indoor environments
- Optimized brightness levels in low light environments
- Added. [sic] A UI element that shows when HDR is active
- Improved highlight exposure when shooting with HDR
- Reduced noise when shooting in HDR
- Fixed Halo effect issue in Portrait Mode when shooting with HDR.
Here’s a list of some of the improvements to the rear camera:
- Improved photo clarity in 50 MP mode
- Improved stability and contrast when recording videos with the rear camera
- Improved photo quality in low light settings
- Improved contrast and bokeh effect when shooting in portrait mode.
- Improved the clarity of faces when shooting in portrait mode.
- Fast HDR processing speed
Next up are the front camera improvements:
- Improved photo clarity
- Improved quality in low light settings
- Fast HDR processing speed
The update adds some new features to the device:
- A feature that can close applications when the device reaches the temperature limit
- When the device is turned off, it clears the view out of battery
- Added different icons to the volume controls for each of the no audio products.
- Updated to Google’s July security patch
And finally some general improvements and bug fixes:
- Redesigned haptic feedback intensity while typing
- Improved touch panel responsiveness in certain situations
- Improved network reliability for many international service providers
- Improved performance of some games when playing in HDR
- Improved system stability
- Fixed issues with Drac Audio
- Fixed an issue affecting Google Wallet functionality in cloud apps.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused unresponsive ‘double tap’ activation.
- Fixed an issue where the Bluetooth Quick Settings tile would sometimes become unresponsive.
- Other general bug fixes
The update is now rolling out globally for all No Phone (2) units.
Nothing has also announced that the Nothing OS 2.0 update for the Nothing Phone (1) will be released next week.
