If you are familiar with Fitbit, you probably know that all Fitbit gadgets have the ability to track your sleep as long as you wear them. Fitbit Premium subscribers can even get personalized insights and tips on how to improve their sleep.
During the unveiling of the Pixel Watch at Google I/O earlier this year, Google confirmed that the device will include the full range of Fitbit features, including sleep tracking. It is the updated data on this feature, obtained from the APK rip, that allows us to understand what the potential battery life of the smartwatch could be.
In the data, 9to5Google You’ll find that the new update includes new in-app text related to the Pixel Watch’s nightly payment reminders. When it wakes up, the watch recommends charging your device to at least 30% before going to bed.
It is important to note that APK ripping focuses on features in progress. Because of this, there is no guarantee that the features will actually be released.
While there isn’t enough data here to draw some concrete numbers, the fact that a reminder should be present in the first place isn’t exactly reassuring, especially since Fitbit smartwatches don’t have this warning. Also, most people spend about 30% of their 24-hour day sleeping, which lends credence to rumors that the watch can have around 24-hour battery life.
This isn’t exactly ideal for a smartwatch you plan to use all day. If your watch is at 10% before going to bed and you need to charge it, how long should you wait before your watch is ready? Having a fast charging feature can definitely help in this regard. And speaking of charging, does the Pixel Watch come with wireless charging, or do you want a charger by your bedside at all times?
We may not get answers to these questions until we get closer to launch time. But at least the Pixel Watch’s battery life looks like it could be longer than the 18 hours of battery life you get from the Apple Watch Series 7.
