The Poco X5 Pro 5G Global variant list reveals the re-branded Redmi phone

The Poco X5 series, which consists of the Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro, is yet to be officially launched, but two details have surfaced on the European retailer’s e-commerce platform. Let’s take a look at all the details on the recently announced Poco X5 Pro 5G Android smartphone.

Poco X5 Pro 5G specifications go up, but the images remain disturbing

The Poco X5 Pro 5G has been listed on the e-commerce platform of Bulgarian retailer CityTel. The listing mentions the specifications of the upcoming Poco X5 series smartphone. Incidentally, the retailer has shared images of the Poco X4 GT, suggesting that the global variant of the Poco X5 Pro 5G may have some cosmetic changes.

Poco has launched the Poco X5 series. After cricketer Hardik Pandya announced the Poco X5 Pro, the smartphone’s functionality was announced during a movie screening. According to recent reports, the Poco X5 Pro 5G is slated to launch on February 7, 2023. The Poco X5 5G is likely to launch alongside its bigger sibling at an event scheduled for February.

Poco X5 Pro 5G specifications, features

According to the specifications, the Poco X5 Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer.

The specs also reveal that the Poco X5 Pro 5G is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, which is paired with an Adreno 642L GPU, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. Poco may offer a high-end model of the X5 Pro 5G with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but the same has not been confirmed yet.

Due to the chipset, it can be safe to assume that the Poco X5 Pro 5G could be a rebrand of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. Recent reports have indicated the presence of a Redmi smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. Poco may rebrand this device and sell it as Poco X5 Pro 5G in international markets including India.

As mentioned in the previous leaks, the Poco X5 Pro 5G will feature a triple rear camera setup that may include a 108MP primary camera. It might come with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP sensor. The phone will have a 16 MP front camera for selfies, video calls and face unlock.

The specs also suggest that the X-series smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery, which supports 67W wired fast charging. The upcoming X-series handset will be sold in yellow, black and blue colors. Its dimensions are 162.1 × 76 × 7.9 mm and its weight is 181 grams. It also offers an IP68 rating that rounds out the list.

Poco has already started teasing the Poco X5 series. The brand has promoted the upcoming film series on a movie screen and there are candid pictures of cricketer Hardik Pandya gracing the Poco X5 Pro 5G. Hence, the Poco mid-range Android smartphone is likely to launch in India soon.
