The Realme GT5 will launch on August 28, and today the brand revealed more details about the upcoming flagship on Weibo. We already knew it would be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, but today we have confirmation that it will be the 3.2 GHz version of Qualcomm’s platform, not the overclocked version used by Samsung and ZTE.
The premium device will have a bigger variant with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage – a combination that is becoming more prevalent in new flagships, especially in China.

A teaser on Weibo revealed the X7 display chip by Pixelworks to improve video quality.
The Realme GT5 chipset isn’t a big surprise, but the option for users to adjust CPU clock rates is a real rarity and the first to offer such fine-grained controls. Leaked screenshots showed an interface where all three clusters can adjust their speed independently. Realme confirmed the feature in a separate post on Weibo hours later.

The device will arrive on Monday, but we expect to see a Pro variant with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset later this year. The big question is which of these devices will escape the domestic market and whether all the clean features that mock the domestic population will be available globally. Hopefully we’ll get the answer soon.
