Oppo unveiled the Find X5 series this February, so the X6 series can be expected around the same time next year. The first reports of what the phones will look like are already circulating on Weibo, and they will use two generations of Snapdragon 8-series chips.
The flagship Oppo Find X6 Pro is expected to get the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It will probably have a 2K display (ie QHD+) and a camera with a 1-inch sensor. according to Digital chat siteOppo, vivo and Xiaomi are all working on 1-inch cameras next year (Xiaomi launched the 12S Ultra this year).
As for the vanilla Oppo Find X6, this one is expected to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Digital Agent 007. Oppo is rumored to be working on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 version of the Find X5 (the first phone uses the 888), but the fast-approaching Find X6 could quickly dethrone it. Anyway, it’s said to have a 1.5K display, a newly emerging term for 1,220px horizontal resolution.
Find X5 Pro is Oppo’s only phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (so far), there are no 8+ Gen 1 phones.
There is also a version of the Find X5 Pro with the Dimensity 9000 chipset. MediaTek certainly has a serial chip in the works, so Oppo may use it for the X6 Find series as well.
Regardless of which chips the X6 flagships come with, they will likely feature custom MariSilicon for imaging, which is prominently featured for the Hasselblad camera. But we haven’t heard much on the matter yet.
