A few days after the Galaxy S23 Geekbench results were released, we got our first look at the Galaxy S23 Ultra with the model number SM-S918U. The new Geekbench listing shows that the S23 Ultra is equipped with an unnamed chipset with the same “Kalama” motherboard identifier and 1+2+2+3 CPU configuration, with the main core clocked at 3.6GHz. Based on previous rumours, this Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC has also been spotted on the Galaxy S23 (SM-S911U) Geekbench listing.
Samsung Galaxy SM-S918U scorecard on Geekbench
The test device managed an impressive single-core score of 1,521 and a multi-core score of 4,689. For context, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Galaxy S22 Ultra comes out with 1,200/3,200 points respectively. The new listing shows the test device with 8GB of RAM, though we assume the retail versions will bring at least 12GB of RAM. We also got confirmation that the phone will run Android 13 with OneUI 5 on top.
It remains to be seen if Samsung will release Exynos-powered Galaxy S23 models, as older rumors suggest that all 2023 S-series phones will use Qualcomm SoCs.
