The Galaxy Z Flip 4 launched with improved upgrades rather than a refresh over the Flip 3. Although it’s a formula that’s proven not to be scoffed at, Samsung hasn’t managed to avoid some of our biggest gripes, like the famous crease in its foldable design. Small cover display. Next year’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 is said to solve those problems.
Display analyst Ross Young suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is looking to make some big changes from its predecessor. This is said to include a new hinge design that can further reduce the bezel on the main display. Unfortunately, it’s still not clear how this hinge plays about the hinge gap, although that could be fixed as well.
A large display on the Galaxy Z Flip 5
The source added that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is going to bring a larger display with a width of 3 inches or more. Compared to the Z Flip 4’s 1.9-inch AMOLED secondary screen, the size can increase diagonally by more than 60 percent.
All these mentioned changes could make Samsung completely redesign the upcoming foldable clamshell. The dual camera is currently placed next to the front display and may be repositioned to accommodate the larger version.
Since the Galaxy Z Flip 4 launched in August, the next-generation foldables are expected to arrive after the second half of 2023. Unfortunately, there are no details on the larger Galaxy Z Fold 4. But it’s safe to assume that it will benefit from new hardware, including a stronger folding mechanism.
