Poco will soon expand its “X” series of Android smartphones with the Poco X5 lineup. The series consists of Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro, both of which will be 5G enabled smartphones. The Poco X5 series is yet to be officially launched, but a list of the base variant has surfaced on the European retailer’s e-commerce platform. Let’s take a look at all the information on the soon to be announced Poco X5 Android smartphone.
The Poco X5 specs go up, but the images used don’t match.
Poco X5 has been listed on Bulgarian retailer CityTel’s e-commerce platform. The listing reveals the design and specifications of the upcoming POCO X5 series of smartphones. Incidentally, the retailer has shared images of the Poco X4 GT, suggesting that the international variant of the Poco X5 may have some cosmetic changes.
Poco has launched the Poco X5 series. After cricketer Hardik Pandya announced the Poco X5 Pro, the smartphone’s functionality was announced during a movie screening. But Poco X5 is not confirmed by Poco.
The Poco X5 clearly sits below the Poco X5 Pro. However, both smartphones support 5G networks in India. Poco will officially launch the Poco X5 Pro early next month. Poco X5 may launch alongside its bigger brother.
The specifications and features of the Poco X5 suggest a remastered version
The Poco X5 listing on Cititel’s e-commerce platform claims that the smartphone features a 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The latest promos of the series indicate that the smartphone will be housed in a large island with a triple camera setup on the back.
According to the specifications, the Poco X5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Poco may offer a higher-end model with 8GB of RAM, but the same has not been confirmed yet. Incidentally, last year’s Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and Poco X4 Pro 5G have the same chipset.
The global variant of Poco X5 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor could be a rebrand of Redmi Note 12 5G. The specs suggest it could be the Poco X4 Pro 5G rebranded as the Poco X5 Pro 5G. This indicates that the retailer might have developed a placeholder for the Poco X5 Android smartphone and may update the final specifications when Poco launches the device globally.
