Following a series of hints, Suuto is finally unveiling the 9 Peak Pro. The multi-sport GPS smartwatch developed by the Finnish company opts for the standard 9 Peak design. And for a small price increase, you get three times the battery life and a faster processor.
TL; DR
- Suunto intros Peak 9 Pro with faster chip and improved battery.
- The rugged smartwatch has a battery life of up to 30 days.
- Its stainless-steel variant retails for $549.
Souto is keeping its strong smartwatch formula on the 9 Peak Pro. Wrapped in thick bezels, the watch gets a 1.2-inch round matrix touchscreen display. There are options of stainless steel or titanium bezel (grade 5). It is clear that choosing the latter costs more, but it weighs a few grams more than the metal version. Regardless of which finish is chosen, all variants get a 22mm sapphire crystal and a silicone strap.
100% made from green energy
Souto claims the 9 Peak Pro is made from 100% renewable energy. It is also calculated that every hour of carbon dioxide emissions is reduced by 7.5 kg of CO2 over its lifetime.

Like last year’s 9 Peak, the Pro model comes with MIL-STD-810H rating and 100m water resistance. Souto is also adding a snorkeling mode that tracks activity at a depth of 10 meters. Additionally, the watch has an operating temperature range of -20°C to 55°C (-5°F to 130°F), which is lower than what the Amazfit T-Rex 2 offers.
Triple battery life
What makes the Suunto 9 Peak Pro stand out from other smartwatches is its 21-day battery life, or three times longer than the vanilla model. Using only the mode in time can extend the longevity up to 31 days. Suunto adds that the watch will last a maximum of 300 hours in training mode with GPS on.
In addition to providing users with real-time average values, the Sutton 9 Peak Pro can record heart rate and blood oxygen 24/7. VO2 max, stress and sleep tracking are also supported. A total of 97 sports modes are available along with navigation, altimeter and weather features. It can also connect to smartphones via Bluetooth 5.0 for notifications and software updates.
Suunto 9 Peak Pro pre-orders are open. The stainless steel variant retails for $549 (CAD 699), while the titanium one costs $699 (CAD 899).
