A poll last week showed that not everyone is sold on the idea of flip phones — or the idea of flip phones in general — but most see the Motorola Razr 2022 as one of the best options out there. Not that there are many options, of course, but that seems to put some buyers off Samsung flips.
We published our detailed review this week. We found a lot to like about the phone, but also a few cons. Among them is the price, but the phone has just launched in the West, so it will be sold at MSRP. Black Friday and the holiday season are fast approaching, so there may be deals and discounts in the near future.
Even so, the Razr 2022 foldable with a 144Hz OLED display could close the €1,200 gap. Some wish the aspect ratio was slimmer, as the 79.8mm width is too much for some hands.
Another concern expressed in the comments was regarding software support – unfortunately, Motorola has not yet provided any details and does not have a good record of timely updates or long software support. We’ll let you know when we know more.
Motorola has moved away from the familiar Razr design for this generation. This made the phone compatible with modern designs, however, for some it lost its identity. Still, while everyone can choose the “form and function” distinction, Motorola leans toward the latter. And in the process, he turned an overpriced midfielder into a true flagship. Now that it can bridge the price gap to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, it certainly has a real winner on its hands.
