Xiaomi recently introduced the much-awaited Redmi Note 12 series in its home country of China. The series includes the regular Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and two special edition phones. Xiaomi will soon add the Redmi Note 12 series to its lineup in India. But before the launch, tipster Kakper Skzypek revealed that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will launch in India as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge.
Will the Xiaomi 12i get Hypercharge 210W fast charging technology?
If this report is true, the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge will replace the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge in India. Xiaomi 11i Hypercharger comes with 120W fast charging support. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ in China comes with 120W fast charging support. If Xiaomi introduced a smartphone with 120W charging, it wouldn’t seem like an upgrade.
Xiaomi has also introduced the world’s fastest 210W charging technology in the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition. It’s like Xiaomi has the best car in the world, but they leave it in the garage. So expect the Xiaomi 12i to feature HyperCharge 210W fast charging support when it arrives in India.
Xiaomi claims that its 210W fast charging technology can fully charge the device in nine minutes. Currently, Realme GT Neo 3 and OnePlus 10T are the fastest charging smartphones in India with 150W. Xiaomi wants to dethrone them by introducing 210W charging technology in the country.
Xiaomi 12i Hypercharger: Features (Expected)
Since the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge is based on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+, let’s take a look at its notable features. It sports a 6.67-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphones will be powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 1080 chipset, a successor to the Dimensity 920 SoC. Expect it to come equipped with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
Apart from super-fast charging, the highlight of the smartphone is the 200 MP primary camera sensor. It comes with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfie lovers, there will be a 16MP sensor housed in a centrally positioned punch-hole camera cutout on the display.
While the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ gets 5000mAh with 120W charging, the Redmi Note 12 Discover Edition has 210W charging and a smaller 4300mAh battery in China. Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge may get one of these configurations in India.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition will start at $25000 and ₹27000 respectively in China. Expect the Xiaomi 12i Hypercharger to launch in India at around Rs 27,000 when it goes on sale early next year.
