The stable Android 13 update is finally here. Google released its new operating system on August 15 and sent it to its Pixel phones on the first day.
But when will phones from Samsung, OnePlus, Sony and other companies get the Android 13 update? Most manufacturers haven’t shared their update times yet, but we can get a good idea of what to expect by looking at how quickly they’ve released previous versions of Android.
Android 13 Update Tracker by Brand:
Asus Android 13 update
Robert Triggs / Android Authority
Asus released the first stable Android 11 update two months after the OS was available. The story was similar with Android 12, which the company sent to the Zenfone 8 series two months after its release. With that in mind, we expect Asus’ timeline to be similar this year, which means we can expect to release Android 13 by the end of October.
We expect Asus to update the Zenfone 9 series to Android 13 first before moving on to other devices.
Unfortunately, Asus isn’t very quick when it comes to rolling out updates to its ROG Phone lineup. Based on previous years, we’ll have to wait around six months for the update, although we’re hoping Asus speeds things up this year.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: October 2022
August 26, 2022: Asus has launched the Android 13 beta program for the Zenfone 9 series. Click here to learn more and register.

August 15, 2022: Google has started rolling out Android 13 to select phones. All Google phones from Pixel 4 can download the new OS now. Pixel 3 or older models will not get the Android 13 update after software support for these handsets ends.
LG Android 13 update
David Email / Android Authority
Although LG is out of the mobile business, it still plans to update a few of its phones to Android 13. The company says it will upgrade the Wing, Velvet and Velvet LTE phones to the new version of Android.
The company hasn’t revealed when this will happen, but looking at the Android 12 timeline – the first update was released five months later – we’re looking forward to it.
Since LG doesn’t care about the smartphone market anymore, we think we’ll have to wait about six months before releasing the first Android 13 update if the company doesn’t change its mind.
Also keep in mind that LG generally releases Android updates in its home country of South Korea first before releasing them in the US, Europe and other regions.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: February 2022
Motorola Android 13 update
Ryan Haines / Android Authority
Motorola released the first Android 11 update four months after the OS was first launched. The company was a little faster with Android 12, but not by much, releasing it about three and a half months after its availability. If the company follows this timeline, we can expect to see the first Android 13 update on Motorola devices in December.
Remember that Motorola has a practice of releasing updates for many of its phones in Brazil before releasing them to the US, Europe and other regions.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: December 2022
August 19, 2022: Motorola has revealed which of its phones will be updated to Android 13 – see the list below.

Eric Zeman / Android Authority
Nokia has been very slow with Android 11 updates, as the first stable version of the OS started rolling out five months after its debut. The company was quick with Android 12, needing just two months to roll out the first stable update.
Nokia hasn’t shared an updated timeline yet, but if we have to guess, we’d say the company will follow the same timeline as last year. We think the first stable update will be released two or three months after Android 13 launches.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: October/November 2022

OnePlus is very fast with updates, and we expect this to continue this year. The company released the Android 11 update almost a month later. It was a bit slow with Android 12, released two months after its launch. Based on this timeline, we expect the company to roll out the first Android 13 update in September or October.

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority
It only took Oppo a month to release the first stable version of Android 11, making it one of the fastest companies to do so. It was a bit slow with Android 12, as it took two months to push out the first stable update. Based on this information, we expect Oppo to release the first Android 13 update soon by the end of October.
The company announced ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 and mentioned that it will ship around 35 phones in a year.

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority.
Realme released Android 11 after three months. It was a bit slower with Android 12, which came out five months after its debut.
Realme has yet to share the Android 13 update timeline with the public. However, based on previous years’ data and the hope that Realme will be faster this year than last, we’d say we’ll see the first stable Android 13 update from the company in either November or December.

Samsung Android 13 update
Ryan Haines / Android Authority
Samsung seems to be speeding up Android updates every year. It released the first Android 11 update three months after its launch. It was very fast with Android 12, published a month after its release. We think the story will be similar this year, which means the company will release the first Android 13 update at the end of September.
The Galaxy S22 phones will likely be the first to get the update, followed by the latest Galaxy Z phones and a few older high-end devices. You can also expect the update to reach more Galaxy A&M devices.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: September 2022
Sony Android 13 update
Robert Triggs / Android Authority
Sony hasn’t shared its Android 13 plans with the public yet, but we expect the tech giant to roll out its first stable update roughly three months after the OS’s launch, just like it did with Android 12. This could mean. Released sometime in November.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: November 2022
Vivo Android 13 update
Hadlee Simons / Android Authority
It took almost two months for Vivo to release the first Android 12 stable update. Although the company hasn’t shared the Android 13 update timing to the public yet, we expect it to follow the same path as last year.
That means we will see the first Android 13 from Vivo at the end of October.
- First stable Android 13 release ETA: October 2022
Xiaomi Android 13 update
Eric Zeman / Android Authority
Xiaomi isn’t the best or the fastest when it comes to Android updates, and we don’t expect that to change this year. Based on the company’s Android 12 timeline, we expect the first stable Android 13 update to be released in November — three months after the OS first launched.
The company is likely to focus on the flagship Xiaomi 12 series first before moving on to other phones, including those under the Redmi brand.
