Today is a big day for the company as it introduced the X6 to the British market and launched a new product in China – the Play 40 Plus 5G. This new phone comes with Dimensity 700 chipset, 50MP dual cameras and a huge battery.
The Play 40 Plus has a 6.74-inch LCD with 720p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a small waterdrop notch for the 5MP selfie camera. The panel technology doesn’t allow for fingerprint scanners underneath, which means the sensor is on the side above the power button.
The main camera is paired with a 2MP depth sensor, while the selfie camera has a 5MP sensor. Design-wise, Honor decided to follow a two-circle solution with overlapping rings from the number series, but on the colored versions – the black variant gets a lighter back.
The Play 40 Plus has a battery capacity of 6,000 mAh, which is the largest in an Honor smartphone. Charging goes up to 22.5W, which puts it on par with X series midrangers, such as the X7 and X8. The user interface is Magic UI 6.1, based on Android 12.
The phone comes in three memory combinations, two with 8GB of RAM – storage is 128GB or 256GB and there is no microSD card slot. The most basic version has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
