After Huawei confirmed that the Mate 50 series will launch on September 6, more Mate 50 news is coming, including charging speed, camera features and the expected chipset.
The certification lists three special Mate 50 models, the Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design. They are listed to support charging speeds of up to 66W (11V @ 6A) as well as 10W (5V @ 2A) and 40W (10V @ 4A).
In another report from Digital chat site Via Weibo, there is word of a fourth Huawei Mate 50E model powered by the Snapdragon 778G. Meanwhile, Huawei Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro are said to employ Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. My driversSupply chain sources, the Mate 50 series use 4G-only solutions. In the camera department, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro is expected to use a flexible aperture assembly on its main camera. We have seen a similar implementation with Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S10 series where the camera can choose f.1.7 aperture or adjust to f/2.4. Samsung only implements dynamic slots on its two-generation Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships. The best aperture is chosen based on the shooting conditions.
Earlier this week, Huawei announced a series launch for the Mate 50 on September 6. After the partnership ends, we’ll see Huawei’s own XMage imaging engine replacing the camera’s Leica branding. Huawei may showcase the 12.4-inch MatePad Pro at the event.
