Along with the Moto Razr 3 introduced by Motorola yesterday, the Moto X30 Pro also made its debut. With a 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor, Samsung is the world’s first smartphone equipped with a flagship processor. Considering the premium specs, Motorola’s X30 Pro surprisingly won’t break the bank.
TL; DR
- Motorola’s Moto X30 Pro uses Chameleon Cell technology to combine pixels.
- The Moto X30 Pro can shoot 12.5MP, 50MP, or 200MP images.
- Moto X30 Pro price starts at $550 in China.
How to use the Motorola 200MP sensor
The Moto X30 Pro boasts a large sensor that sits at two hundred million pixels. This is combined with custom Chameleon Cell technology that uses 2×2 and 4×4 pixel binning techniques. The first combination produces 50MP images with 1.2µm pixels, while the other has a more conventional 12.5MP output but with larger individual pixels at 2.56µm. Although the pixels are reduced to 0.64µm, it is also possible to shoot using the full 200MP resolution.
A triple camera setup is used at the back. There’s a 50MP ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. The selfie camera is an impressive 60MP snapper. In terms of video, the back can shoot up to 8K at 30fps.
Other specifications and prices of Moto X30 Pro
Other budget highlights include a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. Motorola has included an in-screen fingerprint scanner. In terms of memory, the base model gets 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the top-end model has a 12GB/512GB configuration.
The Lenovo-owned company hasn’t skimped on the battery either. Moto’s X30 Pro has a 4610mAh battery capacity. Amazingly, the device supports 125W fast charging which charges the juice in 19 minutes. Optionally there is a 50 watt wireless charging.
As for the price, the Moto X30 Pro will sell for $550 (3,700 yuan) in China for the base model. The most expensive option costs 670 dollars. Already available for pre-order. Global availability has not been announced, but considering that some Moto devices are being sold in other countries, there is a possibility of seeing a release outside of China.
