Repairing a broken iPhone back glass has always been costly and complicated mainly because of the way it is designed and uses premium materials. Apple started to lower the cost of maintenance last year, but this is only for the regular iPhone 14 (review) and not for the Pro models. Fortunately, it’s now introducing changes to the iPhone 15 Pro’s dual rear design that will make them easier and cheaper to repair.
Cheap way to repair Apple iPhone 15 glass
On the support page for Apple’s latest iPhones, the estimated cost to repair the back glass on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is now listed at $169 and $199, respectively. These are significantly lower than previous estimates for the iPhone 14 Pro (review), which starts at $499 for the smaller model and $549 for the Pro Max.
As for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, both entries have the same repair cost for the rear panel as last year’s iPhone 14. Basically, Apple will charge you $169 for the iPhone 15 and $199 for the Plus version.
Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 back glass panel replacement cost
Model | Price | Model | Price |
---|---|---|---|
Apple iPhone 15 | $169 | Apple iPhone 14 | $169 |
Apple iPhone 15 Plus | $199 | Apple iPhone 14 Plus | $199 |
Apple iPhone 15 Pro | $169 | Apple iPhone 14 Pro | 499 dollars |
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max | $199 | Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max | 549 dollars |
The price change comes with the new iPhone 15 Pro rear glass design. Apple claims to have made major architectural changes to the device’s chassis compared to the iPhone 14 Pro, which makes the panel easier to move. Perhaps, the use of a titanium frame has improved the repairability of premium iPhones.
Apple Care+ for the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro
But if you buy the Apple Care+ premium with any iPhone 15, the special cost will be reduced to $29 with a reduced fee, which is the same as the screen replacement. The iPhone maker currently offers its 2-year plan with no theft and unlimited accidental damage for $199 for the iPhone 15 Pro, $179 for the iPhone 15 Plus, and $149 for the iPhone 15.
Like most popular smartphone brands, Apple has introduced self-repair services since last year. It enables users and third-party service centers to find genuine spare parts for iPhone and iPad tablets.
