TL; DR
- Huawei has announced the launch of Watch Buds in the UK.
- The smartwatch comes with headphones that can be placed inside the watch itself.
Huawei announced the Watch Buds in China late last year, offering a smart watch display that pops up to reveal the storage slots of its wireless earbuds. Now, the Chinese brand has announced the launch of its new smartwatch outside its home market.
Huawei confirmed in an emailed press release that the Watch Buds are available for pre-order in the UK today, with general sales starting on March 1.
You’re getting a watch with built-in headphone storage, and it’s also charging while taking shots. You can’t slap any old wireless headphones onto the watch, though, as you’ll need to use the little pill-shaped buds that come with the watch. We’re worried about battery life with this mini-earbud design, and Huawei hasn’t given details on that.
What else are you getting?
Otherwise, the Watch Buds bring a metal case, a 1.43-inch round AMOLED screen (460 x 460), a leather strap, and a crown dial. Other notable features include heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, SpO2 monitoring and 80 sports modes.
Meanwhile, the headphones can be worn on either ear (no separate left or right buds here), and offer touch controls with a wider area to touch your ears.
The Huawei Watch Buds will normally set you back £449.99 (~$544). But customers who pay £30 to pre-order the device can get it for £389.99 (~$472).
