The App Store Review Guidelines, Apple Developer Program License Agreement, and Apple Developer Agreement have been updated to support and clarify updated guidelines and upcoming features. Please review the changes below and accept the revised terms as applicable.
App Store Review Guidelines
- Added to 2.5.18: “Apps that contain advertising must include the ability for users to flag any inappropriate or age-inappropriate advertising.”
- Revised bullet point 11 from 3.1.2(a): “Mobile carrier apps may include auto-renewal of music and video when bundled with new mobile data plans with Apple’s prior consent.” If mobile carrier apps support in-app purchases for users, other auto-renewable subscriptions may be included in bundles with Apple’s prior approval when purchased with new mobile data plans. Such subscriptions may not include access to consumables or discounts, and the subscriptions must be concurrently terminated with the mobile data plan.
- Added to 4.1: “Submitting apps that mimic other apps or services is considered a violation of the Developer Code of Conduct and may result in removal from the Apple Developer Program.”
- Updated 4.4: “Apps that host or contain extensions should adhere to the App Extensions Programming Guide, the Safari App Extensions Guidelines, or the Safari Web Extensions documentation and, if possible, should include some functionality such as help screens and settings interfaces.”
- Updated 4.4.2: “Safari extensions must run on the current version of Safari on the applicable Apple operating system.”
