The vivo Y22s appeared in Vietnam last month, and now the company is offering a more affordable version called the Vivo Y22. The device is already up for pre-order in Indonesia for IDR2,399,000, which is about $160.
For the lower price, the company brought an older chipset and less memory, but kept dual cameras and a bigger battery.
Vivo Y22 is built with a 6.55-inch LCD with 720p resolution and a water drop on the top. At the back is a 50MP camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. Other similarities with the Y22 include the footprint, and while both have a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging, the Y22 is 2 grams lighter.
The biggest change is the Helio G85 chipset. vivo calls it a “gaming processor,” but in reality, it’s a two-year-old platform that will power mid-2020 mid-ranger devices.
Vivo Y22 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with a 6/128GB version expected later. The price is IDR2,399,000, which is about 160 dollars, and customers in Indonesia can pre-order the device in Starlite Blue, Metaverse Green or Summer Cyan colors.
