We haven't seen any mention of LTPO, but the S24 trio has changed and now offers variable refresh rates (up to 120Hz), so it's not out of the realm of possibility.
Sizes
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 is reported to measure 165.0 x 71.7 x 7.4mm when unveiled. This is half a millimeter thicker than the Z Flip5, which measures 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm. As you can see, the larger display doesn't make the phone itself bigger, so that means slimmer bezels.
Here are some renders showing the Z Flip6, which features essentially the same design.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 (Specifications)
Based on unofficial reports, the Galaxy Z Flip6 will come in the following colorways: Light Blue, Light Green, Silver and Yellow.
Big battery
As you might have guessed, the thicker design means a bigger battery – the Z Flip6 is said to have a 4,000mAh battery, which is 300mAh more than the Z Flip5. It is divided between two cells – 1,097mAh and 2,790mAh.
That's a total capacity of 3,887mAh, compared to the usual 4,000mAh advertised capacity. For comparison, the Z Flip5's battery split is 971mAh + 2,620mAh for a rated capacity of 3,591mAh and a typical capacity of 3,700mAh.
Exynos and/or Snapdragon
Back in March, we saw reports that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 would be equipped with the same chip as the new Exynos 2400. In our tests, the Exynos proved to be quite fast, but the smaller Galaxy S24 struggled to keep cool. Samsung is said to be improving the cooling on the new Flip, but it is not clear whether this will be enough – the Z Flip 5 was particularly bad in the continuous load.
Earlier this month, we saw Galaxy Z Flip6 test results on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. While some Flips will get Samsung's chip, others may be seeing another division of Qualcomm.
Galaxy Z Flip6 (SM-F741U) on Geekbench (Vulkan and OpenCL).
As for the Galaxy Z Flip FE, that one will reportedly use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. There's no mention of an Exynos 1480, but the 7s Gen 2 comes from Samsung's founders, so there's some family connection.
12GB RAM, 8GB for FE
Earlier Flips were accompanied by 8GB of RAM, but this year the Z Flip6 should follow in the footsteps of the S24+ and get a 12GB RAM option. That said, the Geekbench test results above showed 8GB, so that base capacity remains.
The Galaxy Z Flip FE stays at 8 GB – it's the affordable version, after all.
Moving on to the storage, the FE is said to have 256GB and 512GB options. These correspond to the Z Flip5 options and should be what the Z Flip6 offers (a 1TB version is not impossible, just unlikely).
50 MP main camera
As you may have noticed, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 will have a dual camera. The flips have featured 12+12MP dual cameras since arrival and won't be getting a separate telephoto camera anytime soon.
There will be an update this year, the Z Flip6 will have a 50 MP front camera, there are rumors. This should come with 2x in-sensor zoom. And, hopefully, high quality day and night footage at 1x as well. The Z Flip5's camera was already great, but the competition didn't stop there.
The ultra-wide-angle camera is expected to stay at 12MP, and the selfie camera won't be upgraded.
what else?
It goes without saying that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 will offer the new Galaxy AI features. Software support (OS updates and security patches) can be staggered for up to 7 years, just like the S24 series.
What about price? We don't know yet, but we expect the Galaxy Z Flip 6 to be in the same price bracket as the Z Flip 5, with the Z Flip FE a notch lower.
