Xiaomi, known for its smartphones, seems to have taken another stab at streaming TV. A new filing on the FCC website suggests that Xiaomi’s new streaming box may be arriving soon.
Found by Chromecast Hub, the file on the FCC certification website shows a new Xiaomi product. Dubbed as the ‘Xiaomi Box 4K’, the listing reveals the design and specifications of Xiaomi’s unannounced streaming technology. The record seems to suggest that the box might start sooner rather than later.
The design in the presentation shows a box-shaped device with curved edges, similar to the shape of the Xiaomi Mi Box S. It also has the model number MDZ-28-AA. Other than that, nothing else can be gleaned from the provided image.
As for the specifications, the set-top box seems to offer 4K resolution and support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. In addition, Xiaomi Box 4K comes with all necessary accessories. This includes a remote control with volume control, HDMI extension cable, 5W power adapter and two AAA batteries.
We don’t know what Xiaomi’s new streaming product will cost, but if history repeats itself, don’t be surprised if the Xiaomi Box 4K is more expensive than its competitors, like the Mi Box S at $59.99.
