Apple previews new entertainment experiences starting with Apple Vision Pro
Users can turn any space into a personal theater, enjoy over 150 3D movies, and experience the future of entertainment with Apple’s immersive video.
Cupertino, California Apple today announced a series of exciting entertainment experiences available on Apple Vision Pro starting Friday, February 2. Combined with an advanced spatial audio system with more pixels for each eye than a 4K TV, Vision Pro allows users to watch new shows. and movies from top streaming services, including Apple Originals with Apple TV+, transport yourself to stunning landscapes with environmental protection, and enjoy never-before-seen all-new spatial experiences like Encounter Dinosaurs.

Breakthrough technologies highlight the ultimate entertainment device
Apple Vision Pro features ultra-high-definition micro-OLED displays with a combined 23 million pixels of wide color, high dynamic range and Dolby Vision. The brand-new R1 chip transmits images to each display every 12 milliseconds – 8x faster than the blink of an eye – while the M2 chip delivers breakthrough, energy-efficient performance in CPU, GPU, neural engine and other custom technologies. The Vision Pro supports two hours of total usage with up to 2.5 hours of video playback and all-day use with an external battery connected to the USB-C charging cable.
Apple Vision Pro sounds great with an advanced spatial audio system that delivers rich sound. Dual driver audio pods for personalized spatial audio for each ear1 – Support for Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio – also allows listeners to hear what’s around them. Sound Ray Detector analyzes the acoustic properties of a user’s environment to optimize the sound for that location. For listeners looking to use headphones with Vision Pro, AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with USB-C delivers the perfect experience, featuring ultra-low-latency Lossless Audio.
Dynamic apps and environments in visionOS
visionOS seamlessly integrates digital content with the user’s physical space to provide an infinite canvas for apps, games and other spatial experiences. Apps in visionOS can be placed anywhere in the user space and scaled to the correct size. Users can also change their location with the atmosphere: beautiful and dynamic vistas with realistic sound effects can be automatically generated based on the time of day. Users can stream music, audiobooks or podcasts while gazing at the starry night sky from Yosemite, browse the web from Haleakala, or open apps while taking in a storm on Mount Hood. Users can adjust the immersion of the environment, including the volume of environmental sounds, by rotating the digital crown on the Apple Vision Pro.
visionOS supports a number of technologies unique to the Apple ecosystem to deliver a seamless entertainment experience on Apple Vision Pro. With SharePlay, Vision Pro users can watch TV shows and movies, listen to music with Apple Music, and play games from the App Store and Apple Arcade with users on other Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. visionOS also introduces a number of new features and technologies unique to Vision Pro: Users can use Travel Mode to stabilize images for use in aircraft.2 and to share Guest User specific applications and experiences with family and friends;3 Like Photos or Safari.
The viewing experience on Apple Vision Pro is unparalleled: when a user starts watching a video, the lights around them automatically dim as the content gets closer to them. Videos can be placed anywhere or localized for a more cinematic experience. With Surround, users can scale videos beyond the width of their room, so the screen feels 100 feet wide, all while maintaining the frame rate and aspect ratio. And there’s no need for a remote control: users simply dial controls with their eyes, hands or voice.
A private theater for TV shows, movies, sports and more
With the Apple TV app, Apple Vision Pro users can watch every award-winning Apple original, including the Golden Globe winner, from Apple TV+. Killers of the Flower MoonEmmy Award winner Still: Michael J. Fox movieand the new, highly acclaimed limited series, Lords of the air. Users can access the MLS Season Pass., Home of Major League Soccer, and more from popular streaming apps and channels. The Apple TV app features a cinema environment, allowing viewers to turn any space into a personal theater. Users can choose their favorite seat from floor or balcony, and front, middle or back row.
Users can download and stream TV shows, movies, sports and more with apps from top streaming services, including Disney+.4 ESPN, NBA, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok and the 2023 App Store Award winner MUBI. Users can watch popular online and streaming video using Safari and other browsers.
With visionOS, developers can leverage the powerful and unique capabilities of Apple Vision Pro to transform the user experience, making the visual experience in their apps even more immersive. With Disney+, subscribers can watch thousands of TV shows and movies in vivid detail from four iconic locations: The Disney+ Theater, inspired by the historic El Capitan Theater in Hollywood; From Pixar’s Horror Floor Monsters Inc.; Marvel’s Avengers tower overlooking downtown Manhattan; and the cockpit of Luke Skywalker’s ground speeder, experiencing a binary sunset over the planet Tatooine from the Star Wars galaxy.
3D movies more than ever
At launch, Apple Vision Pro users can watch more than 150 3D movies from the world’s best studios in incredible depth, anytime favorites and latest releases, for example. Avatar: The Waterway, Dune, Spider-Man: To Spider-ManAnd Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Users can get 3D copies of eligible movies when they’re ready to rent or buy from the Apple TV app, and users who own or buy 3D-edition movies can get the version on Apple Vision Pro at no extra cost. Several streaming apps, including Disney+, offer 3D versions of their latest and most popular movies on Vision Pro at launch, and launch new 3D versions alongside or shortly after regular 2D releases. To make the experience more immersive, users can watch both 2D and 3D movies with Spatial Audio and Surround.
All new immersive entertainment experiences
With Apple Vision Pro, users can experience Apple Immersive Video, an exciting new entertainment format pioneered by Apple. Apple Immersive Video features 180-degree 3D 8K recordings captured by Spatial Audio to transport viewers to the center of a place, moment or story. At launch, users can enjoy select immersive movies and series on the Apple TV app at no additional cost.
- Alicia Keys: Exercise class Featuring her renditions of “Nobody,” “If I Can’t Find You” and “Don’t Know My Name,” this intimate rehearsal session offers a rare glimpse into the Grammy winner’s creative process. Users will be able to access these performances as a special EP when it launches exclusively on Apple Music.
- Adventure It follows pioneering athletes as they face incredible challenges in some of the world’s most emotional locations. In the first part, highlightSpectators plunged into thin air with highliner Faith Dickey as she tackled her biggest challenge yet: a daring 3,000-foot jump from Norway’s iconic fruit.
- Wild life It brings viewers up close and personal with some of the most fascinating creatures on the planet. The first episode brings viewers to the world’s largest rhino sanctuary where a former police captain dedicates her life to saving, raising and rehabilitating these gentle giants.
- Prehistoric Planet ImmersionThe award-winning Apple original documents from Jon Favreau and the producers Planet Earth He returns with an immersive film that transports viewers into the everyday lives of dinosaurs, and follows the struggles and triumphs of these majestic animals in a dramatic setting. Prehistoric Planet Immersion A pterosaur colony talks to viewers on a rugged ocean shore where it rests for an afternoon nap, a show that offers rest.
More on the App Store and Apple Arcade
Along with the new immersive experiences, users can enjoy interactive entertainment exclusive to Apple Vision Pro. With Encounter Dinosaurs, a new free app by Apple that ships with Vision Pro, users can see dinosaurs roam the earth for over 66 million years and the Cretaceous, when Mother Nature reigned supreme. Executive produced by Jon Favreau and inspired by his award-winning work Prehistoric planetConnect Dinosaurs allows users to interact with giant three-dimensional reptiles in their own physical space.
On top of the brand new App Store – featuring over 1 million apps, over 250 fun games with Apple Arcade and new spatial experiences built for VisionOS – users can enjoy a world of entertainment on Apple Vision Pro.
