OnePlus Ace 2 Pro was announced today with a lot of amazing specs – up to 24 GB of RAM, 150W fast charging and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The new smartphone is the first in the world to feature a new design of the vapor chamber developed by OnePlus, with nearly 10,000 square meters of cooling solutions.
The front of the Ace 2 Pro is a 10-bit 6.74-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. The screen supports a 120 Hz screen refresh rate, and can reach 1,600 nits of brightness under certain conditions. It also comes with 100% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB color gamut, always-on display feature and 93.9% screen-to-body ratio.
The Qualcomm chipset is not new in the OnePlus family, but it is an improvement over the Ace 2. It brings an increase in performance on the CPU and GPU while reducing their energy consumption, and is combined with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, neatly combined into three. Alternatives.
The Ace 2 Pro vapor chamber now comes with dual-cycle heating, increasing its total area to 9,140 sq.mm. This includes several layers of graphite and thermal gel, both of which are excellent materials, which allow the heat to spread quickly and not increase the internal temperature of the device.
OnePlus didn’t launch the phone as a gaming headset, but there’s a lot of buzz about how good it is for mobile gaming. The entire device is wrapped in metal and serves as antennas, which is nothing new, but the Ace 2 Pro has at least 15 different elements that can be used as antennas, and there are some software improvements on Wi-Fi stability as well. On top of that, at least 100 games support a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The Ace 2 Pro isn’t big on cameras – it has a 50 MP main camera with PDAF and OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro shooter on the back. There’s nothing spectacular on the front – a 16 MP Samsung sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
OnePlus decided to go big on charging instead. 150W is nothing new in the company’s portfolio, as the Ace Pro supports similar rates, but it’s still impressive in a world of flagships with double-digit ratings. It is said to charge 17% from 0 to 100% with the proprietary SuperVoc, and the phone can be charged at 45W with any PD adapter.
The Ace 2 Pro has a SuperVOOC S power management chip that controls the screen, charging speeds and temperature, and is guaranteed for “long-term charging protection”. The phone’s operating system is Color OS 3.1 on top of Android 13.
OnePlus Ace 2 Pro in gray and green
It is available in two colors – Aurora Green and Titanium Grey. Prices start at CNY2,999 ($410/€375), but this price is for the 12/256GB variant. 16/512 GB is CNY3,399 ($465/€425), and fans of the Genshin Impact can get a Peymon-branded adapter and an extra CNY200 for a limited-edition box set. The powerful 24 GB RAM version comes with 1 TB of storage for CNY3,999 ($550/€500).
The first sale is scheduled for next Wednesday, August 23, but the limited edition will arrive seven days later. The launch is only in China, and seeing as how the original Ace Pro was relaunched as the OnePlus 10T, we can only hope that this device goes global soon as the OnePlus 11T.
