Quick answer
Apex Legends Mobile has controller support, but only semi-officially. According to the developers, Global launch does not support controllers. But they are working on it. However, players have found that some controllers work well in Apex Legends Mobile. There are also control settings in the menu, so there is some control support.

How to enable controller support in Apex Legends Mobile
Joe Hindi / Android Authority
There is no toggle to enable controller support in Apex Legends Mobile. Your controller should automatically activate when you connect it. We recommend starting a shooting range instance so you can test your controls before jumping into a real match.
The virtual controls remain enabled even when the controller is connected. You can change this though by editing the virtual controller. You can do it by logging in settingsand then ControlsAnd by tapping Custom layout Button. You can resize, move, and reduce the opacity of on-screen elements to get them out of your way.
The game includes three controller positions, so you can keep the standard position and have a second position that moves everything for your controller. The game supports up to three virtual HUD layouts.
What controllers are supported in Apex Legends Mobile?

Unfortunately, this is a fairly short list. We expect it to grow over time, but for now, here’s what you need to work on. If you want to buy one of the controllers, the links will take you to Amazon.
Please note that even those controllers seem to be hit or miss with some people. In some cases, the controller works on iOS but not on Android or vice versa, so support for the above controllers is shaky at best. We tested it with an Xbox Series X controller and it worked fine. However, our tests with the Moga XP5-X Plus showed less than desirable results. The flat did not work.
We will update this list once the official list of supported controllers is released.
How to customize control buttons in Apex Legends Mobile
Joe Hindi / Android Authority
Although the developers say there is no official controller support at global launch, there are settings that allow you to configure your controller.
- open up settings From the main screen.
- On the right side, tap Controller v1.0 Optional.
- Go to Controller v1.0 part of settings.
- underneath button Hit tab Custom layout Button.
- Tap any command you want to change. Tap the button on your controller to switch to that button when it’s highlighted.
- If the button you want is already assigned to a different function, the game will overwrite the two. For example, Reload is Square and Crooked O. If you set Reset to O, crouch will automatically reset to square.
How to set up your controller in Apex Legends Mobile

of Controller v1.0 The settings body has three tabs. It is the first. button And we will explain how it works above. They are the other two. Basic And Camera Allows you to further customize your controller. This is what each thing does.
Basic
- Joystick end zone (movement) – This controls how far you can move your joystick before it is recognized as a move in the game. This setting is for the left joystick only.
- Pointer sense — This controls the in-game cursor and helps speed up things like lot selection.
- The overall level of sensitivity – This is what you think, the whole general emotional state.
- Vertical sensitivity scale – This is a general sensitivity setting, but it only works on the Y-axis (up and down).
- FPP without ADS – This setting allows you to adjust the feel of your joystick in first-person mode when you don’t need views.
- TPP without ADS – Same as above except third person mode.
- 1x-10x Optic ADS – The game allows you to adjust your mood based on device zoom. There are options for 1x (iron sight), 2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x and 10x. You can adjust each zoom range individually to tailor your experience with each weapon type.
Camera
- Joystick end zone (turn) – This controls how far you can move your joystick before it is recognized as a move. This only works for the right joystick.
- outer limit – This setting dictates the maximum amount of joystick movement before the game stops recognizing it as movement. A helpful in-game tutorial will show you the difference between this and the Zone Zone when you adjust both, but it’s available at Camera Tab.
- More rotation speed – This setting allows you to add more camera rotation speed if you want.
- More rotation speed vertical zoom – This is the same as extra rotation speed, but for vertical zoom.
- More speed compression time – Gives you the option to blur the motions to make the game a little smoother. This setting adjusts the time it takes to reach maximum sensitivity for the correct stick rotation speed.
- More speed ramp up delay – This setting further adjusts the motion blur effect for less jittery motion.
It’s really nice to see such good controls in a mobile game. Those with controllers definitely have an advantage over on-screen gamers. We recommend using the shooting range mode to test any adjustments you make before moving on to a real game to make sure everything is working as expected. Also don’t forget to tap Align with the cloud button to save your settings.

Every Q
The most likely answer is not yet supported. Many people have problems even with the controllers listed above. For now, there’s not much you can do. You can try to disconnect and connect the controller, close and open the game and restart your device. However, we think the developers will fix it in a future update and add better controller support.
The answer is probably not yet, but it wouldn’t hurt to load up a game at the shooting range and try it yourself. Leave a comment and let us know if it works.
That question is difficult to answer because every player is different. We recommend running around with some things, launching an instance of a shooting range to test, and tweaking it until it looks right. The same goes for configuring on-screen controls in Apex Legends Mobile.
It depends. Some people are really good at playing with three or four fingers on the screen, and will give you a run for your money. However, the controller is very easy to use for beginners and intermediate players, so yes, it can give you an advantage.
