Apple has dropped the new iPhone 14 Plus from its lineup this year. The big iPhone isn’t selling as well as Apple had hoped. Now the Cupertino company is changing its iPhone 15 Plus tune to include a price cut.
The poor outlook of the economy and weak demand for the regular iPhone 14 (Plus) will make Apple consider drastic changes, according to the leaker’s claim. According to the South Korean source, the price of the Apple iPhone 14 Plus is one of the reasons why the device is not as popular as the iPhone 14 Pro. In this, Apple may reduce the price of the model in next year’s parade.
More Pro Features for iPhone 15 (Plus)?
Not only will the iPhone 15 Plus receive a price adjustment. The smaller iPhone 15 could also benefit from this strategy, given that there is little cost difference for the two models. As a reminder, the iPhone 14 Plus retails for $899, while the standard iPhone 14 starts at $799.
Another reason that caused Apple to rethink the plan is the wide gap between the features of the vanilla and Pro iPhones. On that note, Apple helps bridge this gap by introducing more features to non-Pro models, such as the pill-shaped Dynamic Island design.
Is the iPhone 15 Ultra a thing?
At the same time, the leaker claims that the naming scheme of Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro (Max) could be changed. According to previous reports, Apple is launching an iPhone Ultra that will replace the Pro Max. However, while Apple is keeping the smaller iPhone Pro, specifications such as the camera and build are different from the iPhone 15 Ultra.
It’s unclear whether this new Apple strategy will resonate with other products like its smartwatches and iPads. However, we want to know if you think Apple is on the right track to lower the price of the iPhone 15. Let us know in the comment section.
