Lava launches its first smart watches – the company launches with two models, one round and one rectangular, both under the name “Prowatch”. It will be available in India this week through the company's online store, Amazon and other retail partners.
Lava's first smartwatches: Prowatch ZN and VN
The Lava Prowatch ZN is a round watch and is the more premium of the two. It has a zinc alloy body and a choice between stainless steel and silicone straps. The watch has been tested to withstand corrosion from salt spray and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

The display is a 1.43-inch round OLED with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. It runs at 60Hz and can achieve a brightness of up to 600 nits, with an always-on display mode. Keeping with the durability theme, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The two Prowatches run a proprietary OS instead of Google Wear. You can handle Bluetooth calling (95 dB speaker), notifications (with quick replies) with camera and music controls. There is also a voice assistant and some built-in games.

The focus is on sports and health tracking. ZN has more than 110 sports modes. It's equipped with heart rate and SpO2 sensors, a step counter, can measure stress and track your sleep.
The ZN watch is also notable for its battery – a 350mAh power cell can get you through 7 days of regular use or 3 days of Bluetooth calling. The most impressive statistic is the fast payment – 100% is reached within 1 hour.

The Lava Prowatch VN is a rectangular watch and is the more affordable of the two. It uses a 1.96-inch LCD with a resolution of 320 x 386 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits. It also runs at a 60Hz refresh rate and has an always-on mode.
The chassis is made of zinc alloy and comes with silicone straps only. Note that the water resistance level is IP67, but the watch still passed the salt water spray corrosion test.

The battery is smaller at 230mAh and promises 5 days of normal use, 2 days of Bluetooth calls (90 dB speaker). Charging is very slow and takes 2 and a half hours.
It has the same sports and health tracking features as its round sibling – heart rate and SpO2, steps and stress, sleep tracking too. Same notification features, music and camera controls, even built-in games.
