Last year, EV maker Neo launched its own smartphone and this seems to have started a frenzy among its competitors. Today, right on schedule, Polestar announced its first smartphone, the Invented Polestar Phone, after a few weeks of leaks, rumors and teasers – we even saw an unboxing video yesterday.
The Polestar Phone is made by Meizu and is based on the Chinese company's 21 Pro device, which was announced in February. That's no coincidence, as both Polestar and Meizu are owned by Chinese auto giant Geely.
The Chinese translation of the Polestar phone comes with a pure “Scandinavian design aesthetic that is extremely simple and luxurious”, and even the logo on the back tells us that it is “noble, restrained and not transparent”. If you're wondering why we're translating the specs of the handset from Chinese, it's because the Polestar phone is only launched for that market.
The device has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC at its core, a 6.79-inch 1368×3192 120 Hz LTPO OLED screen made by BOE with 1,850-nit peak brightness, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage. , a triple rear camera system (50MP main with OIS, 13MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto with OIS), a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,050mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The phone is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. It measures 164.98 x 74.42 x 7.98 mm and weighs 214 grams. The Polestar is only offered in one color, White. The specifications, by the way, are the same as the Meizu 21 Pro. It looks like the only way to order a Polestar phone is through the Polestar app.
Of course, the main selling point of this device is its tight integration with Polestar cars – currently it only works with Polestar 4. The Polestar phone also has UWB hardware but no support for it yet, this will come later via a digital update. Car key. Same goes for the AI Gallery image creation feature, AI-assisted input function, as well as Polestar Link for seamless connectivity with cars other than the Polestar 4.
