Motorola is gearing up to launch its next flagship, the Edge 50 Pro, which will have a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The announcement comes from the Chiense branch of the company, which confirmed the chipset for the X50 Ultra, which will be the local name of the Pro.
We also expect the phone to launch in the United States under the name Edge+ (2024), as Motorola will market the flagship with the Plus moniker for its US customers.
The phone has been spotted in a number of video leaks and teasers, revealing its launch in India on April 3, the same date we told you about earlier.
Some videos showing the X50 Ultra/Edge 50 Pro show that the phone will have a 6.7-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. However, these videos could be updated footage of the Edge 40 Pro as there's nothing the 2023 flagship didn't have, even some Android 14-specific features. See for yourself:
The Moto Edge 50 Pro is already available on Flipkart on its own landing page. It has confirmed some specifications like a 50 MP main camera and it also brings autofocus tracking in video, AI adaptive stabilization and AI photo enhancement guide.
The page also claims that the screen will have 1220p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, which contradicts the videos. Motorola also claims that this will be the first phone with a Pantone-certified display, which will bring “real-world colors” and “accurate skin tones” in the “most accurate way.”
Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes in three colors – White, Purple and Black. We expect to learn more details about the phone as it is around the corner.
